33 years old and originally from Oggau, Burgenland, Karin Waldek has been living in Eisenstadt for eight years.

The creative gene was ingrained in her from an early age. In her childhood, she used to draw a lot with her grandfather, but over the years, she lost touch with her artistic side.
It wasn’t until 2017 that she stumbled upon acrylic paints by chance. Fascinated by this medium, its versatility, and consistency, she instinctively delved into painting.
In 2018, she took her first painting course with Isabella Wolf, and in 2021, she attended a course at Kunstfabrik Wien. More courses followed.

“Bringing color to canvas is my escape from everyday life – here, I can unwind and passionately focus on something. I am fascinated by colors and textures, the surfaces that can be created. Some of my paintings exude encouragement and a positive, vibrant energy. Then, I paint something that encourages introspection and shows how multifaceted we all are – and that not everything has to be perfect.”
