Dieter Halama is a trained bookseller and bookbinder and studied art history in Vienna.

He lives and works in the “Villa Wiental” in Pressbaum in the Vienna Woods as a freelance art and local historian, bookseller, antiquarian, art bookbinder and restorer, artist, cultural mediator, author, and since 2023 also a publisher. He gives lectures on art history and workshops on bookbinding and papermaking at the Art VHS in Vienna.
